All of NIFCO’s non-linear edit suites are connected to the AVID ISIS media-sharing network. This allows all editing workstations to share access to any piece of digitized media, increasing productivity and easing workflow throughout the post-production process. Our machine rooms have a patching system that can access any piece of equipment in the facility. Some notice will be required for specific equipment, as it may be in use by other personnel/projects. NIFCO also has full time technical support. The Facility Director Steve Cook is available to consult with you on your project.

AVID DS Nitris Suite
The Avid DS Nitris system is the offers multi-stream, 10-bit uncompressed HD, Avid DNxHD, and SD finishing and mastering as well as HD-RGB and 2K/4K file-based editing with real-time playback up to 2K. It combines advanced creative and finishing software with high-performance Avid Nitris Digital Nonlinear Accelerator hardware for real-time editing and effects.
The system is used to master TV programs, films, and commercials – even theatrical releases. NIFCO is currently running DS version 8.4. on a HP8200. It has dual-link capabilities for ingest and output of HDCAM-SR 4:4:4 RGB and remote processing for offloading effects processing. If needed, the system can also be booted as a Symphony Nitris for quick conform of Media Composer projects.

With native support for virtually any format, Final Cut Pro lets you edit everything from uncompressed SD to HDV, DVCPRO HD, and uncompressed HD – as well as Panasonic P2, Sony XDCAM HD, AVCHD and AVC-Intra tapeless formats. Or use ProRes 422, a new post-production format from Apple that offers uncompressed HD quality at SD file sizes. Mix and match a wide range of formats and even frame rates in the open format Timeline.
