Founded by Roger Maunder in 2001, the Nickel started with a screening of local filmmakers. Over ten years, it has grown with our film industry to see many emerging and award-winning local filmmakers become on par with the international filmmakers we present. The Nickel now reaches across the province and presents an annual Roadshow, a high school tour, a series of high quality workshops, and several special events throughout the year.

Nickel 10 takes place June 22-26, 2010 but you can get in on the action if you come to our launch at the Yellow Belly Brewery, 288 Water Street on Tuesday, May 25.

10 years, 10 films, 10 bucks… and a reception and party to wrap it all up!
