The next major piece for the Association of Cultural Industries of Newfoundland Labrador‘s popular website has just gone live: the Cultural Jobs Board — a module inspired by ACI’s ongoing human resources research. This jobs board allows those seeking employment in the cultural sector to browse jobs around the province and country, while also allowing anyone already signed up for an ACI account to post job descriptions on the site.
In 2008, the Association of Cultural Industries of Newfoundland Labrador (ACI) redesigned its website as a Web 2.0 destination for cultural workers, audiences, and consumers. Users can either browse the content online or create a “Facebook”-like profile that will allow them to add content to the site, including biographies, event listings, training profiles, and job postings — thereby promoting their work, products, shows, courses, businesses, etc.
The very popular Cultural Calendar was released in July, and allows users to see cultural event listings across the province or narrow their choices by geographic area and artistic discipline. Also released at this time was the Mentorship and Training Database, which allows users to either seek cultural training around the province or post their own training and mentorship offerings.
